Not Just Plastic is a social impact initiative by Not Just Group Vietnam Co., Ltd founded by Frantz Pedersen

We have since 2017 been working with waste materials such as bamboo waste, wood waste and coffee waste. We now collect, shred and recycle plastic waste in Central Vietnam

Why

Vietnam is facing increasing levels of plastic waste pollution, especially low value plastic waste which is hard to collect and recycle.

We want to inspire, educate and collaborate with local businesses, schools and communities to help recycle their plastic waste and reduce their use of single use plastic products ending up landfills and the ocean.

What

We collaborate and work closely with restaurants, cafes, schools and households also known as Plastic Partners.

We recycle the plastic waste into different products such as outdoor flooring or recycled plastic pallets.

Segregation at Source

How

We recycle the plastic types #1, #2, #4 or #5 also known as low and high value plastic waste.

We pick up plastic waste daily from the plastic partners or schools and bring it to our plastic waste facilities in Hoi An and Da Nang.

At the locations we segregate the plastic types and bring it to our shredding facility in Hoi An.

PET #1

Polyethylene Terephthalate

All plastic products with the triangle #1 icon, such as:

  • Water bottles
  • Other beverage bottles
  • Take away cups
  • Take away trays
HDPE #2

High-Density Polyethylene

All plastic products with the triangle #2 icon, such as:

  • Bottle caps
  • The bottle hand strap
  • Cleaning bottles etc.
  • Shampoo bottle etc.
LDPE #4

Low-density polyethylene

Such as:

  • Plastic bags
  • Wrapping film
  • Bubble wrap
  • Zipping bag
PP #5

Polypropylene

All plastic products with the triangle #5 icon, such as:

  • Straws
  • Take away cups
  • Cutlery
  • Take away food containers
  • Toothbrushes
  • Chewing gum containers
  • Take away bottles
